The National Distance Running Hall of Fame Suspends Induction for 2007
May 31 , 2007 (Utica, N.Y.) – The National Distance Running Hall of Fame announced that will be suspending the induction of the ninth class due to the search of a new Executive Director and the 30th running of the Boilermaker Road Race. The Boilermaker Road Race has been searching for a new Executive Director since December. Over one hundred and twenty people have applied for the position. "We want to take the time to make sure we get the right person for the job," stated Earle C. Reed, Boilermaker Founder.
Also this year the Stanley Theater is undergoing some stage improvements and will be closed this summer. The Stanley Theater has been home of the Induction Ceremony since 2000.
This year our emphasis is going to be on the thirtieth running of the Boilermaker Road Race. The Boilermaker will be adding some things to help us celebrate our thirtieth. One event that has been added is the MVP Health Care High School Challenge, which will be part of the Carbone 5K Run.
Some Hall of Fame Inductees will be participating in Boilermaker Events. For an example Kathrine Switzer and Bill Rogers will be featured panelists at the Partners Trust Runners' Forum – Ask the Experts on Saturday, July 7 at 1:00 PM.
