National Distance Running Hall of Fame Race
Utica, NY (May 19, 2006) – The Utica Roadrunners will host the Eight Annual National Distance Running Hall of Fame Race on Sunday, May 21, 2006. There are two races a Half Marathon and 5 K. “We are expecting a great turn out this year,” said Mary MacEnroe Co-Race Director. “We estimate there will be over 350 runners.”
Registration and packet pick up will be on Saturday May 20, 2006 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the National Distance Running Hall of Fame, 114 Genesee Street, Utica, New York. There will be NO Race day registration.
The Half Marathon will start promptly at 8:00 AM on Whitesboro Street near Commercial Travelers. The Course will go out the West side of North Genesee Street to the Canal Path a cross the Harbor lock. Continue along the Harbor Lock on the path 0.9 of a mile past the Route 291 Bridge loop around and finish right in front of Commercial Travelers.
The 5K (3.1 miles) will also start on Whitesboro Street near Commercial Travelers and go out the West side of North Genesee Street to the Canal Path there will be a turn around at the Harbor lock and finish in front of Commercial Travelers.
Both courses are relatively flat.
Parking is available at the city court lot and Union Station. Results will be posted on the Hall of Fame window and at www.uticaroadrunners.org.
All proceeds go to benefit the National Distance Running Hall of Fame.
