(Biography)

Founded The Runner, a magazine that merged with Runner’s World in 1987

Currently, worldwide publisher of Runner’s World magazine, Director of International Magazines, and Vice President , Magazine Division at Rodale Press, Inc., and Publishing Director of Men’s Health Magazine

Former publisher and president of New York magazine, founding publisher and president of New Times magazine from 1968-1972 and from 1973-1979, and assistant publisher of Life International and Life En Espanol at Time, Inc.

Founding sponsor of the New York City Marathon

Served on the President’s Council on Physical Fitness from 1986-1988

Former vice chairman of the New York City Sports Commission

Unsuccessful Democratic Candidate for Congress in Manhattan’s "Silk Stocking" district in 1986

Frequent television commentator for major racing events, such as the Olympic Games, the Olympic Trials, and nearly every major U.S. marathon including Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and San Francisco

Graduated from Princeton University (magna cum laude) and holds an MBA from Harvard School of Business
